Washington Twp. Dentist Wins Stay

Despite the state dental board’s recommendation to suspend a dentist, he is still working at his office in Washington Township.

That is because a judge granted Dr. R. Thomas Perry what is called a stay. This allows Perry to continue practicing while he appeals the dental board’s decision.

The dental board ruled Perry should be suspended for six months following the death of a patient. In 2003, a 50-year-old man went into cardiac arrest in Perry’s office.

Authorities said he was under general anesthesia so Perry could take out the man’s teeth.
