Travel impacts will be big with this system since snow will be falling during the morning hours. If you must be on the roads this morning, be on the lookout for these three things:
Snowy Roads: Roads will be snow-covered and slick through the night and during the morning commute. Some cities south of Dayton and near Cincinnati started with sleet and freezing rain, so potential ice under the snow will make travel more difficult. The snow-covered roads will be even more prevalent in areas that haven't been treated or plowed. Accumulations will still range from 1-3 inches with some cities picking up 4 (mainly along or southeast of I-70)
>> Winter Weather Traffic Information
Visibility: Visibility will be greatly reduced at times. As snow falls heavy in spots, visibility will drop as well. Some portions of the drive may be alright, but pockets of heavy snow, especially before sunrise may drop visibility to a quarter mile.
>> School, business closings and delays
Other drivers: Poor visibility and accumulating snow during the morning will make traveling very dangerous. Extra time and space between you and the vehicles around will be needed if you need to get on the roads this morning.
>> Winter Weather Awareness: How does salt help melt ice on the roads?
Daybreak will have Team 7 Weather Coverage all morning or listen in your car to AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO through the morning for weather and traffic updates.
