A West Milton man convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor was sentenced Monday to one year in prison.

John Eyrich, 23, was accused of sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl in West Milton in January and July 2017. He later pleaded guilty in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

Eyrich told Judge Jeannine Pratt he was remorseful for his actions. "I feel terrible for what I have done," he said.

Pratt said he was lucky he did not face more serious charges. "This was not a mistake," she said, adding Eyrich knew the girl's age.

He was given credit for nine days served in jail and was classified a Tier II sex offender requiring registration of his address for 25 years with the sheriff in the county where he lives.
