WinWholesale acquires Chicago-area supply firm

Moraine-based WinWholesale Inc. has acquired a plumbing supply company that serves the Chicago metropolitan area, company officials announced Thursday.

WinWholesale has purchased M. Cooper Supply of Mokena, Ill. The transaction closed July 1. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

M. Cooper Supply provides services to the Chicago metro area and all counties in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana from its 80,000-square-foot distribution center in Mokena. The company will do business as M. Cooper Winsupply.

Tom Schleisner, WinWholesale area leader, has been named president of M. Cooper Winsupply. Current M. Cooper executives Dave Poteete and Greg Goode will remain with the company in senior level positions. M. Cooper Winsupply has 75 employees.

WinWholesale President Jack Johnston said the acquisition supports the company’s growth strategy by giving it a presence in the Chicago-area markets. In addition, it will allow the company to build on M. Cooper’s customer relationships.

WinWholesale is a distributor of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies and materials. The privately held company had $2.5 billion in sales in 2014. WinWholesale has more than 570 locations in 45 states, with 5,200 employees nationwide, including more than 300 in Dayton.
