Woman hits parked cars, flips Chevy in Kettering

UPDATE @ 4:30 a.m. (Sept. 18)

A 34-year-old Kettering woman was headed home early today when she struck a parked car, which caused her vehicle to flip and slide into two other parked cars, Kettering police Sgt. Brad Lambert said.

Daina Retting was taken to a local hospital for treatement of minor injuries following the crash around 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Courtland Avenue. No other occupants were in Retting’s vehicle, which was totaled, the sergeant said.

Retting, who lives on Courtland Avenue up the street from where she crashed, admitted she was speeding, Lambert said. However, he said officers also suspect she also was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Lambert said she would be summoned to court on an OVI charge.

FIRST REPORT

Several parked cars were hit in a rollover crash early today that left a large debris field.

Police and medics were called around 3 a.m. to the 1900 block of Courtland Avenue in Kettering. A woman driving a Chevrolet was taken to a local hospital. Her injuries were not described as life-threatening, medics said.

Kettering police did not comment at the scene. We’re working to find out what caused the crash.
