Woman Pleads Guilty In Elderly Theft Case

A Yellow Springs woman admitted in court Friday, that she stole money from an elderly man to start her business.

Elizabeth Stardancer, 51, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft from an elderly person.

Prosecutors said she bought the Dragon Tree store in Yellow Springs with money that did not belong to her. They said it belonged to an 82-year-old man.

Stardancer was arrested back in May and is facing five years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine.

In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors and her attorney reached an agreement. They said if she pays the victim back $25,000 they would recommend probation instead of prison time.

Stardancer is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
