3 women injured in Ohio 49 crash in Darke County

Two cars and a semi-tractor trailer were involved in a five-person crash on State Route 49 that sent at least three people to local hospitals Tuesday afternoon.

Darke County deputies were dispatched at 1:16 p.m. to Oakes Road and State Route 49 on a reported crash with a person trapped.

Deputies told our news partner The Early Bird that a Chevrolet Impala traveling southbound on Ohio 49 slowed to make a left turn and was clipped from behind by a semi-tractor trailer. The impact pushed the Impala into the path of a northbound Honda Odyssey minivan.

Three females, at least one from each car, were taken to Wayne HealthCare and Miami Valley Hospital. Their conditions are not known.

North and southbound traffic was held up for about an hour.
