Wright-Patt Credit Union Involved In Security Breach

Officials with Wright-Patt Credit Union said there is a chance that some members may have had the credit and debit card information stolen.

The credit and debit cards were part of a security breach involving Heartland Payment Systems, which is a company that processes credit and debit card payments.

Thousands of members’ cards were identified in the breach.

Heartland said intruders hacked into computers that it uses to process transactions. However, Wright-Patt Credit Union said less than 15 percent of their 172,000 members are affected.

Affected members will get new cards in the next few weeks.
