Xenia’s highest-paid employees in 2018: Payroll Project

Sixteen employees of the city of Xenia were paid over $100,000 in 2018, according to the Dayton Daily News Payroll Project searchable database of public employees.

Capt. Steven Lane, who has been with the Xenia Police Division since 1991 and is now the city’s highest-paid employee, made just over $120,000 last year, a roughly $6,000 increase over his 2017 income.

The US Census estimates that Xenia’s per capita income in 2017 was $23,206. These estimates are the most recent that the government database offers.

Of Xenia’s 10 highest-paid employees, the law director and city manager are the only two employees that do not work within the city’s fire or police divisions.

7. Jason Kinley, fire captain: $109,093

8. Brian Brennaman, fire captain: $107,277

9. Donald Person, police chief: $105,237

10. Gary Johnson,police captain: $104,899
