DEWENTER, Donald Richard

Born December 6th 1926, in Lafayette, IN. passed away January 5th 2021, at age 94.

Donald is a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps, enlisting alongside his twin brother John upon graduation from high school and serving in Germany. Donald returned to Lafayette and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's

degree. Donald later earned his MBA from the University of Detroit.

Donald retired from General Motors in 1989 after a 39 year career starting in 1950 with the Inland Division.

A long-time member of Walnut Grove Country Club in Dayton OH, Donald loved to play golf and poker. His children will always remember their father as the Lawn Dart Champion few ever could beat.

Preceded in death by his mother and father John and Berenice (Beemer) Dewenter, wife Sara Jane (Cox) Dewenter, identical twin brother John Edwin Dewenter and daughter Alison Underwood, he is survived by three sons William G. Dewenter, Douglas R. Dewenter (Edna) and Robert T. Dewenter (Barbara), 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all from Dayton, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial shall be held Saturday, January the 9th at St. Henry Catholic Church (Dayton, OH) with interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, in West Lafayette, IN.
