DUNLOPE, Kenneth Holland

Kenneth Holland Dunlope passed away at home on October 16, 2019, surrounded by his family. Following his wishes, his body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University's Boonshoft School of Medicine. He was

interred June 1, 2021, at Dayton National Cemetery, in a

family service. Ken was born in Follansbee, WV, on August 6, 1930, to Kenneth E. and Violet (Holland) Dunlope. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James Dunlope. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Julia (Judy Wherry) Dunlope; his daughter, Julia Williams of Fairborn, OH; his son Douglas (Debra) Dunlope of Westerville, OH; grandchildren Joshua (Darlis Periman) Williams, Jack (Becca) Dunlope, and Anna Dunlope; great-grandchildren Eli, Tyler, Bradley, Chloe and Lydia.

A member of the Steubenville High School class of 1948, Ken served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War before graduating from The Ohio State University.

Ken was a car guy, a pilot, gunsmith, and restorer of all things. Following his retirement from General Motors, Delco Moraine Division, he was a crew member with the Wright B Flyer

organization, working on, among other things, the restoration of My Gal Sal, and a member of the Miamisburg Sportsmen's Club. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
