KROGER, Roger "Rick"

Age 74, of Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at his residence. He was born May 18, 1946, in Middletown, Ohio, and lived in this area most of his life. Rick served in Charlie Company 1st Battalion 5th Marines during the Vietnam War. He served from 1967 to 1970, and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He then served in the National Guard at the Patrick L. Kessler Armory in Middletown for several years following his service in the Marines. He was employed for 30 years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 2012. Rick was a member of the Oasis Church. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and intriguing people with magic tricks. He was quite the handyman and enjoyed making crafts as gifts for friends and family. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Thelma Louise (Bennett) Kroger; one stepson, Paul Neff; one grandson, Travis Jeandervin; and three sisters, Linda French, Esther Gable and Kathy Kroger. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Hyang Kroger; two daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Milbauer and Karen Kroger; two stepdaughters, Vicki Lynn Neff and

Gina Marie (Michael) Theders; six grandchildren, Sam Milbauer, Kaleigh Jeandervin, Paul Theders, Jordon Theders, Olivia Callahan and Kimberlyn Callahan; two sisters, Bonnie Kroger and Jeanie Kleimeier; and many nieces, nephews,

extended family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs

Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by

services at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Interment will be in the Veterans Section of Woodside Cemetery with Military Services by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Condolences may be sent to the family at
