"Dick"

Age 86, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on January 27, 2021, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. Dick was born in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Iva and Espy Risner. He graduated from Jefferson High School

in 1953 and Wittenberg University in 1957 with degrees in business and coaching. While at Wittenberg, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and played basketball for the Witt Tigers. Dick married his high school sweetheart Winifred Landis on March 24, 1956, and enjoyed 61 years together before Winnie's death in April 2017. Dick retired from National City Mortgage Company in 2005 after 19 years and after 48 years in the mortgage business. Dick was an active member of Normandy United Methodist Church and the Centerville Kiwanis Club. He was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed traveling with Winnie and many of their friends and family. Dick followed Wittenberg University basketball and football throughout his life along with the Cincinnati Reds and Dayton Dragons. Dick is survived by his son Kevin Risner, daughter Stephanie Goudreau (Chris), grandsons Nathan Risner and Jacob Risner, and granddaughter Helen Goudreau. A small graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio. A livestream will be available to view via Routsong's YouTube channel. Reverend Harvey Smith will be officiating. A celebration of life will take place at a later date at Normandy United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Normandy Church Endowment Fund, 450 West Alex-Bell Road, Dayton, Ohio, 45459. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Leonard's, Kettering Medical Center, and Ohio's Hospice of Dayton for their support in Dick's final days.
