The West Chester restaurant was named the best steakhouse in Ohio by Business Insider in 2016 and still ranks as one of the best in the nation. At the same time, the business went under a renovation that included new decor, a new menu and the addition of its dry-aged beef program.

“With nine restaurants on the list, Ohio is the most recognized state, followed by Texas with eight, and North Carolina and Virginia with seven each,” according to an OpenTable press release. “Pennsylvania boasts six winning restaurants, New York and Colorado each have five and California, Florida, New Jersey, Nevada and Tennessee each claim four winners. While American cuisine dominates the list, a number of other fares are featured, such as French, Italian, Latin, Seafood and Southern — all perfect for a romantic evening out with your valentine.”

• Strip Steakhouse — Avon
OpenTable — which describes itself as “the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations” — said its “most romantic” awards “reflect the combined opinions of more than 10 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 24,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.”

Jag’s is located at 5980 West Chester Road in West Chester Twp.
Not all restaurants were eligible to be named to the list. OpenTable’s “most romantic” list, and the many other “best of” restaurant lists that the web site releases, are open only to those restaurants that subscribe to and are customers of the online-reservation company.
