McDonald's and "gourmet" might not be words you quickly associate, but the chain is test marketing new burgers in the hopes of changing your mind.
The Signature Collection of gourmet burgers will debut at dozens of McDonald's in Britain Wednesday.
The new features are made-to-order and thicker than traditional McDonald's burgers, so customers may have to wait a bit longer for their food.
If the gourmet burgers are a hit, they could expand across the U.K. and possibly appear in the U.S.
McDonald's has struggled in recent years with lagging profits, but U.S. sales are starting to rebound, thanks in part to a revamped menu and new all-day breakfast items.
