J.T. Barrett, Ohio State football impressing oddsmakers with latest run

Count the folks who set the odds at Bovada among those impressed with J.T. Barrett and Ohio State football’s five-game winning streak.

After drubbing Nebraska 56-14 on Saturday night, the Buckeyes have the second-best national championship odds in the country.

OSU’s 5/1 odds trail only Alabama, which is at 10/11.

The Buckeyes had 15/1 odds a week earlier.

At 9/1, Barrett is tied with Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph for the fourth-best.

Barrett had 28/1 odds last week.

He is the country’s co-leader in touchdown passes with 21, including four last week as the Buckeyes incinerated Nebraska’s Blackshirts defense. Barrett also ran for two touchdowns to leave him with 158 points responsible for, a figure that leads the nation.

Penn State running back Saquon Barkley leads the way at 7/5 to win the Heisman, down slightly from a week ago, followed by Stanford running back Bryce Love (7/5) and Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield (11/2).
