Alfredo Simon to miss start Tuesday for Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Alfredo Simon will miss his start Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies because of tendinitis in his right biceps but is expected to make his next start.

The Reds called up Robert Stephenson from Triple-A Louisville to make his second career start in the 7:10 game at Great American Ball Park.

To make room on the roster for Stephenson, the Reds optioned relief pitcher Jumbo Diaz to Louisville. Diaz gave up a three-run home run in the eighth inning Monday in a 5-1 loss to the Rockies. Diaz had a 5.40 ERA in eight appearances.
