Cincinnati Reds have 3 picks on first night of MLB Draft

The Cincinnati Reds will make three picks in the Major League Baseball draft on Thursday night.

They have the No. 2 overall pick and are scheduled to make that selection at 7:16 p.m. They also have the 35th overall pick, in Round A of the competitive balance lottery, and will draft that player at around 9:58 p.m. Their final pick of the first day of the draft is their second-round pick, the 43rd overall, at 10:13 p.m.

The draft is scheduled to end at 11:15 p.m. It continues Friday and Saturday. There are 40 rounds. Last year, there were 1,215 players drafted.

The draft begins at 7 p.m. MLB Network will televise it.
