Former Hamilton Joe to make MLB debut Friday

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brent Suter, who played with the Hamilton Joes during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, will make his major league debut Friday.

The left-hander is scheduled to start against the Seattle Mariners.

Suter, who played collegiately at Harvard and is a Moeller High School graduate, was the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League Pitcher of the Year in 2010 for the Joes. Suter was 5-0 with a 1.27 ERA that season, striking out 47 while allowing just 32 hits and nine walks.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder is 6-6 with a 3.50 ERA this season for Triple-A Colorado Springs in the Pacific Coast League.

Suter was a 31st-round pick by the Brewers in the 2012 draft.
