An exact re-creation of baseball in the 1860s, the vintage games are played by the rules of the era and players wear the uniforms and use the equipment of the time period, according to a release from the Dayton Dragons.

Notable differences from today's game include the absence of gloves, the use of just one umpire, and players helping the umpire make close calls with complete honesty.

The Red Stockings, associated with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, were the first professional team. In 1869, the club recorded the only undefeated season in professional baseball with a 57-0 record.

Gates open at 5:15 p.m. for those with today’s Dayton Dragons game ticket.
