NBA or NHL: What have you been viewing?

With two major championships happening at the same time, it is clear sports fans have been glued to their televisions.

The last week has been a ratings bonanza for both NBC and ABC when it comes to sports viewership. Both networks have seen a growth in their respective finals coverage.

But one network has seen blockbuster ratings over the other.

ABC has carried the first four NBA Finals games this season, and each game has brought with it some sort of record for the network. Thursday's win for the Golden State Warriors brought the highest Game 4 NBA Finals rating since the network started airing NBA Finals games.

According to ESPN, ABC's NBA broadcast partner, nearly 19 million viewed Thursday's Game 4 as the game got an 11 rating from Nielsen. While the ratings have been impressive for ABC, NBC has done well with its hockey coverage for the Stanley Cup.

While the first two games of the Cup Finals aired on NBC, the network switched its coverage of Game 3 and 4 to NBC Sports Network. Despite the network airing two games of the between Chicago and Tampa Bay on cable, the finals have been the second most watched in 18 years according to NBC.

The remaining three games will be on NBC.

Both series have featured tight contests and no clear favorite. In the NBA Finals, the Warriors and Cavs are tied at two games apiece, while in hockey, the Blackhawks and Lightning are also tied at two games each. All four Stanley Cup Finals games have been decided by one goal.

With both finals taking place at the same time, people have taken to Twitter to compare the two sports.
