The Bengals today waived cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris.

Lewis-Harris, a four-year veteran from Tennessee-Chattanooga, played in seven of the Bengals eight games this season. He recorded four tackles and had an interception.

Lewis-Harris has played in 26 games for the Bengals since signing in 2012.

The move frees up a spot on the roster for defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry, a former Bengal. Gilberry likely will be on the field Monday when the Bengals return to work after the bye week, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Gilberry, in his ninth NFL season, also made reference to a possible return on his Instagram account.

Gilberry signed with the Detroit Lions in April after four seasons in Cincinnati. The 6-foot-3, 267-pound defensive end played in only four games with the Lions before being place on injured reserve with an abdominal injury. He was waived last month.

The Bengals defense ranks 24th in the NFL in yards allowed per game (378.5) and are tied for 19th in points allowed per game (23.6).
