The Cleveland Browns have acquired quarterback Brock Osweiler in a trade with the Houston Texans, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Osweiler was one of the biggest free-agent signings a year ago when he agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal with Houston, but the Texans benched him for the final two games of the season after he threw 26 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

In addition to Osweiler, the Texans are sending Cleveland their second-round pick in 2018 in exchange for Cleveland taking $16 million off Houston’s books, according to Schefter’s report.

The Texans have been rumored to be in negotiations with Dallas to acquire quarterback Tony Romo, and dealing Osweiler would seem to clear the path for that to happen.
