Projected starters
Josh Cunningham, 6-7, redshirt senior forward: Cunningham averaged 15.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in his first full and healthy season for Dayton. He started all 31 games. It was the seventh straight season a transfer has led the Flyers in scoring. He earned All-Atlantic 10 third-team honors.
Trey Landers, 6-5, junior guard: The most improved player on the team, Landers averaged 11.3 points and 5.6 rebounds and became a consistent scoring threat in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Jalen Crutcher, 6-1, sophomore point guard: Crutcher had the best freshman season by a Flyer since Dyshawn Pierre in 2012-13. He averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
Jordan Davis, 6-2, sophomore guard: Davis turned in one of the best freshman shooting performances in school history. He made 56 of 142 3-pointers (39.4 percent) and averaged 8.0 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Ryan Mikesell, 6-7, redshirt junior forward: The St. Henry grad underwent hip impingement surgeries in May and June last season and earned a medical redshirt. He returned to practice during the season and helped run the scout team. A healthy Mikesell could find a place in the starting lineup. He averaged 5.7 points and 3.9 rebounds as a sophomore in 2016-17.
Other returners
Obadiah Toppin, 6-8, redshirt freshman forward: Toppin attended a year of prep school after graduating high school, so he'll be 20 years old when he debuts with the Flyers in November and turn 21 near the end of next season. He sat out the 2017-18 season as an academic redshirt and said he gained a lot from practicing with the team.
Newcomers who will debut in 2018
Dwayne Cohill, 6-2, freshman guard: Dayton's highest-ranked recruit, so far, in the Grant era finished his Holy Name High School career with 2,182 points. That ranks 31st in Ohio history.

Jhery Matos, 6-6, junior guard: Matos averaged 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists as a sophomore at Monroe College. He verbally committed to Dayton in February and has two season of eligibility remaining. As a junior college transfer, he doesn't have to sit out this season.
Policelli, 6-8, freshman forward: Policelli played his first three years of high school basketball at New Hartford High School (N.Y.). His junior season was cut short by a partially torn meniscus. He transferred to Long Island Lutheran for his final season and averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds.
Transfers who will debut in 2019
Watson, 6-5, guard/forward: He played two seasons at Michigan and will have to sit out the 2018-19 season before playing his final two seasons. He averaged 2.2 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.2 minutes per game last season
Chatman, 6-1, point guard: He averaged 13.3 points, 4.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds as a sophomore at Chattanooga.
