Cincinnati Bengals: Sam Hubbard officially signs contract extension

Sam Hubbard’s football life has not taken him out of Ohio yet.

It might never after he agreed to a contract extension with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The fourth-year defensive end who went to Moeller High School in Cincinnati then was a standout at Ohio State will be a Bengal through the 2025 season.

His new deal, signed one year before the end of his five-year rookie contract, is worth $40 million according to ESPN.

Hubbard has 16.5 sacks in 44 games for the Bengals, who used a third-round pick on him in the 2018 NFL Draft.

“Sam is about all of the things we want to be about, and it was a priority to get this deal done,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said in a statement. “He’s been a tremendous leader on this team. He comes to work every single day, and we look forward to him being a leader for us for years to come.”

The Bengals are set to begin training camp this week.
