The Cincinnati Reds made a roster move Wednesday, acquiring Miguel Medrano from the Texas Rangers.
He is a right-handed pitcher who is headed to the Reds’ affiliated in the Dominican Summer League.
He spent the last two seasons in that league, where 10 of his 15 appearances were starts.
Medrano went 5-1 last season with a 2.75 ERA. He struck out 61 and walked only seven in 59 innings as a 19-year-old.
To get him, the Reds sent the Rangers some international bonus pool money.
