Cincinnati Reds Billy Hamilton is fast — even on home runs

Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton doesn’t hit many home runs.

But when he does, the Reds speedster doesn’t waste any time admiring them.

Hamilton went deep Monday night against the Cubs' Jon Lester and trotted around the bases in 16.2 seconds, according to MLB Statcast. It's the fastest time since MLB started using the tracking system. The fastest home-run trot last year? Hamilton, of course, in 16.5 seconds.

The long ball was just the 11th of Hamilton’s career — 1107 plate appearances over two-plus seasons. During that same span, Hamilton has 127 stolen bases.
