Coffing, who has a communications degree from Ohio State University, irked a few of the competitors with her constant chatter from the sidelines. Her “birdie dance,” a quick side-to-side wiggle, which came shortly after she won a closest-to-the-pin challenge, also upset a few of her opponents.
“We’ve seen it in college. We’ve seen it on the Duramed Tour and now on the ‘Big Break,’ ” one competitor said. “It’s cocky.”
“Someone needs to eliminate her,” whispered another.
Coffing, 24, is one of the final six competitors on the show, filmed this winter at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas.
Ryann O’Toole, a California golfer who has two wins on the Duramed Futures Tour this year, was eliminated from Monday’s show.
The winner of the show will receive invitations to compete in the 2010 Lorena Ochoa Invitational on the LPGA Tour and to the 2010 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour, as well as a $10,000 endorsement contract, a $10,000 shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods and free entry to Q School, as well as entry fees paid for the 2011 Duramed Futures Tour events.
