Sinclair used a huge fourth quarter Wednesday to win its first round game in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.

The 12th-seeded Tartan Pride used a 29-16 advantage in the fourth to upset fifth-seeded and previously unbeaten Niagara County 74-73 at Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison, Ark.

Kierre James scored 27 points, Amanda Schroeder added 26 and Keeara Nared scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Sinclair (27-4). Myalisa Beal’s two free throws with 26 seconds left was the difference for Sinclair.

Sinclair advances to face 13th-seeded Lackawanna College in the quarterfinals at 9 p.m. Thursday.
