Dayton Flyers ousted by Sooners

The run is over for the Dayton Flyers.

The Flyers led by as many as nine in the second half Sunday night before dropping a 72-66 decision to Oklahoma in a third-round NCAA Tournament game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.

Scoochie Smith scored 16 points to pace Dayton (27-9).

The Flyers, who won a First Four game over Boise State and beat Providence in the second round, were playing their sixth game in the last 10 days. UD advanced to the Elite Eight last year.

The Sooners (24-10) advance to face Michigan State on Friday in the East Regional semifinals in Syracuse.
