Dayton men receive votes in AP top 25 poll

Dayton men's basketball coach Archie Miller got a late birthday present Friday. A day after his 36th birthday, a few voters in the Associated Press poll showed the Flyers some respect.

Dayton received six points in voting and is ranked 43rd. They’re in the “others receiving votes” part of the poll, just behind Arkansas, a team it plays Dec. 14, and just ahead of Providence.

Virginia Commonwealth earned a No. 16 ranking. It’s the only A-10 team in the top 25. Massachusetts received four points in voting, and George Washington received one vote.

Kentucky received 24 of 32 first-place votes and is ranked first and is followed in the top 10 by Arizona, Duke, Wisconsin, Kansas, North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Louisville and Texas.
