Detwon Rogers leaving Dayton men’s basketball program

Junior forward Detwon Rogers is transferring from the Dayton men’s basketball program, coach Archie Miller confirmed Tuesday. Rogers never played in a game for the Flyers.

Rogers announced last April he was transferring to Dayton after two seasons as the College of Southern Idaho. He was slowed by a knee injury last fall and didn’t start practicing with the Flyers until January.

About the time he was supposed to start playing, Miller said he was dealing with an “academic situation” and he doubted Rogers would play this season. Rogers stopped practicing with the team at that point and was not seen on the bench again during games.
