PHOTOS: Wright State introduces Scott Nagy
“I’m a little nervous because I haven’t done a press conference like this in a while,” said Nagy, who comes to WSU after going 410-240 in 21 seasons at South Dakota State. “It would take a very special place to pull me away from where our family has lived for so long. It would have to be a place that shared my values, that had a culture of family and had an opportunity to win. That’s obviously very important to me. And without question that place was Wright State.”
Athletic director Bob Grant said he received “dozens and dozens” texts and emails from people he doesn’t know congratulating him on hiring Nagy. Grant said one text, from someone he didn’t know and didn’t know how the person got his cell number, really stood out to him.
“Congrats on your hire of Scott Nagy,” Grant said. “I worked with him many years ago. He’s obviously a proven winner but also unquestionably one of the finest, most value-driven men I’ve ever met in the coaching profession.”
