Ohio State implements “clear bag” policy for Michigan State game

Ohio State will implement a “clear bag” policy for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. football game against Michigan State at Ohio Stadium.

“This is a direct result of what’s going on around the world,” Athletic Director Gene Smith said. “We’re trying to respond to that. This is the beginning of different changes you’ll see down the road.”

Smith said it might take fans longer to get in the gate, and “the earlier you come the better.”

According to Ohio State, the following bags will be permitted:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 14 inches by 14 inches.

• One gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

• Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap that can be taking into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.

• An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at gates 13, 16, 23 and 26.
