Urban Meyer preaches importance of carrots, Skittles and juice boxes

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer, perhaps auditioning for a youth coaching job down the line, had a little fun with his players at practice Tuesday.

Meyer posted a video to Twitter of him talking to the Buckeyes and wrote, “We make sure our players are taken care of with a training camp post-practice snack pack for recovery.”

In the video, Meyer pulled out a brown lunch sack and said, “When you guys were young and played pee wee, you got little snacks. The first thing you always got because you have to be somewhat healthy, you got carrots. Then you’ve got to get a little sugar in you.”

Meyer pulled out a bag of Skittles. Then he closed the short speech by pulling out a juice box and holding it up for the players to see.

“Make sure by the time you get home, you’ve got that juice box gone,” Meyer said. “Make sure you close the mini-van tight when you leave.”
