Schwarber was thought to be out for the season, but there’s a chance he could serve as a designated hitter for the Cubs — who lead the Dodgers 3-2 in the NLCS — if they advance to the World Series against Cleveland, the Tribune reports. Game 1 is Tuesday night.
The former Middletown Middie hit .246 with 16 home runs and 43 RBIs in just 69 games for the Cubs last year. He hit five home runs in the playoffs in 2015.
