Cunningham wins A-10 Player of Week award

Dayton junior has made 30 of his last 32 shots

Dayton Flyers forward Josh Cunningham won the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week award Monday.

Cunningham had 29 points and 18 rebounds in Dayton’s only game last week, an 88-83 overtime victory Saturday against Georgia State at UD Arena.

In Dayton’s last four games, the redshirt junior Cunningham has made 30 of 32 shots. He made 22 straight shots over a three-game span and made 8 of 9 against Georgia State. He ranks fifth in the nation in field-goal percentage (73.3).

Dayton (5-5) plays at Saint Mary’s (9-2) at 10 p.m. Tuesday in Moraga, Calif. The Flyers arrived in the Bay Arena on Sunday.
