Dayton Flyers forward Kostas Antetokounmpo is training with Greece’s Under-20 national team in hopes of making the roster for the FIBA U-20 championships in Crete from July 15-23.
Antetokounmpo, a redshirt freshman, traveled with the team to Germany for two practice games last weekend, according to the Greek Basketball Federation.
Antetokounmpo was on campus at UD for the first summer session. He also traveled to his home country to take part in an event hosted by his brothers Giannis and Thanasis. The brothers hosted an exhibition game Sunday in Athens, Greece.
Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks star who was named the NBA's Most Improved Player, announced he was creating a scholarship program for the children of migrants born in Greece. Kostas and his brothers were born in Greece. Their parents are from Nigeria.
