According to a series of Tweets on Sunday by David Worlock, the media coordinator for March Madness, the committee will unveil what it thinks are the top 16 seeds so far this season at 12:30 p.m. Saturday on CBS prior to the game between Kentucky and Tennessee.

This is the fourth straight year the committee has met during the season for a “selection orientation meeting.” The seeds announced Saturday will have no bearing on the actual seeds announced on Selection Sunday, which falls on March 15 this year.

The committee will meet Tuesday through Thursday this week in Indianapolis, Worlock wrote, and will “get its top 16 teams in place through games of Friday. (Before they adjourn Thursday, they will put contingency plans in place to account for games played Thursday and Friday night.)”

According to Worlock, nine teams that received No. 1 seeds in the bracket preview shows from 2017-19 prior to Selection Sunday remained a No. 1 seed in the real bracket, and the other three teams received No. 2 seeds. All 12 No. 2 seeds stayed in the top 16, he wrote, as well as nine of the 12 No. 3 seeds and six of the 12 No. 4 seeds.

Dayton (20-2), which has not played in the NCAA tournament since 2017, is the fifth-highest ranked team on BracketMatrix.com with an average seed of 2.29 on 78 brackets. ESPN's John Gasaway listed Dayton as a lock for the tournament in his Bracket Watch story on Saturday.

The Flyers have won 11 games in a row and don’t play again before the selection committee meets. They return to action at 2 p.m. Saturday against Saint Louis at UD Arena.
