Dayton Flyers offer scholarship to forward from Florida

Ben Middlebrooks, a 6-foot-10 forward, announced a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers on Thursday.

Middlebrooks is a four-star recruit who ranks 116th in the class of 2022 in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He’s a junior at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds last season.

“My biggest asset is being able to expose mismatches on the other team because I feel like I can shoot and handle the ball better than most people my size,” Middlebrooks told Evan Daniels, of 247Sports, in June. “I can bring people smaller than me or not as strong down low.”

Wake Forest and Mississippi are among the other most recent schools to offer Middlebrooks a scholarship. Notre Dame, Auburn, LSU, Maryland and Clemson offered him during the summer.

Earlier in the week, Dayton offered a scholarship to another forward in the 2022 class: Kendall Campbell, of Milton, Ga.
