On Twitter, Streit wrote he has accepted a position as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be his second NBA job. Streit worked as a strength and conditioning associate coach with the Chicago Bulls for three years.

“The game of basketball has taken me to some incredible places,” Streit wrote on Twitter, “and has allowed me to make some incredible friendships. Dayton has truly been one of the best stops along the way. The past year has been an amazing experience, and I am very grateful for it.”

Assuming Dayton hires a new strength coach before the 2019-20 season, it will be the third strength coach in as many years. Streit replaced Casey Cathrall, who left for a position at the University of Miami after one season with the Flyers. The previous strength coach, Patrick O'Neal, was with the program for two seasons.

Streit has provided updates on Dayton’s workouts throughout the offseason on social media.
