Holmes has received offers from Kansas, Arizona State and Washington State. He talked to 247Sports.com in October about the recruiting interest heâs receiving.
âYou have the outside voices of people trying to get in your head,â Holmes said. âYou just have to maintain positivity and focus on being with your team and being the person that you want to be. I look up to my older brother DaRon and he tells me a lot about himself and what he went through and I just learn from him.â
DaRon committed to Dayton in October 2020 during his senior year. At that time, he ranked 36th in the class of 2021 in the Rivals.com rankings. He was the highest-ranked recruit to pick Dayton in this century. Heâs averaging 17.7 points this season and has started every game of the past two seasons.
