Cameron Holmes, the youngest brother of Dayton Flyers sophomore forward DaRon Holmes II, announced Tuesday on Instagram he received a scholarship offer from UD.

Cameron, a 6-foot-5 guard, is a freshman at Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz. He’s the first player from the class of 2026 to receive an offer from Dayton.

Holmes has received offers from Kansas, Arizona State and Washington State. He talked to 247Sports.com in October about the recruiting interest he’s receiving.

“You have the outside voices of people trying to get in your head,” Holmes said. “You just have to maintain positivity and focus on being with your team and being the person that you want to be. I look up to my older brother DaRon and he tells me a lot about himself and what he went through and I just learn from him.”

DaRon committed to Dayton in October 2020 during his senior year. At that time, he ranked 36th in the class of 2021 in the Rivals.com rankings. He was the highest-ranked recruit to pick Dayton in this century. He’s averaging 17.7 points this season and has started every game of the past two seasons.
