Dayton is one spot ahead of Ball State, its first opponent on Nov. 10. Seth Davis, of The Athletic, ranked the Cardinals No. 22.

Duke is the preseason No. 1 and is followed by Michigan State, Arizona, Kansas and Kentucky. Cincinnati is 12th. Xavier is 17th. Saint Mary’s, one of Dayton’s opponents, is No. 22.
