The Dragons placed Marshall, a 12th-round draft pick in 2014, on the restricted list Thursday. He was hitting .181 in 65 games.

Marshall, a first cousin of former Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips, had a walk-off single in the Midwest League All-Star Game in June.
