ESPN analyst Dick Vitale revealed the news in a video on the scoreboard Friday night during Dayton’s game against Davidson.

ESPN’s traveling pregame show includes host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas, LaPhonso Ellis and Seth Greenberg. They will film the show live at 11 a.m. on the UD campus. The exact location has not been announced.

Dayton plays its regular-season finale against George Washington at 7 p.m. that night. UD is also hosting the Atlantic 10 Conference women’s basketball tournament all weekend.

“I think obviously you’ve got to be good and have people’s attention,” Dayton Athletic Director Neil Sullivan said. “It really started in Maui. They really liked us. We said, ‘Hey, you’re welcome anytime if you like us that much.’ We kept in touch from there. There were a couple of complications to make it work, but we were fortunate enough to make it work.”

The No. 4 Flyers (27-2, 16-0) clinched the outright Atlantic 10 Conference championship Friday by beating Davidson 82-67. They have won 18 games in a row. It’s the second-longest winning streak in school history.

This will be Dayton’s first appearance on GameDay.

“It’s good for the university,” Sullivan said. “Anytime we can tell our story, that’s what we want to do. If you want to play at this level, you’ve got to have people pay attention. We’re a great institution. This is bigger than basketball.”
