Three days after Ezekiel Elliott was suspended by the NFL, his father indicated what type of defense the Dallas Cowboys running back could mount.

Stacy Elliott tweeted, “My son’s legal team is ready to fight! Let’s deal!!!! You will know the set up and the PLOT!”

He included a screen shot from a story that appears Monday on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram website.

That story cites sources who explained "Elliott's appeal will hinge partly on dishonest testimony ex-girlfirend Tiffany Thompson and a number of threats to 'ruin his career.'"

Thompson accused the younger Elliott of domestic violence in Columbus last summer.

Although local police opted not to press charges, the NFL conducted an investigation that lasted more than a year and resulted in the conclusion Elliott had violated the league’s personal conduct policy.

He was suspended the prescribed six games for that offense, but he is expected to appeal this week.
