Fans can wish Washington Nationals right fielder Adam Eaton, a Springfield native and 2007 Kenton Ridge High School graduate, luck in the World Series by signing a card at a number of places in the Northridge and New Carlisle areas.

The Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame placed cards in Northridge at Short Stop, Security Bank, Scout's Cafe, Hershey's Ice Cream and Northridge Bowling Lanes and the New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank on Villa Road as well as the New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank in New Carlisle.

There will also be cards at all schools in Northridge for students and staff to sign. According to Tim Bucey, of the Hall of Fame, the cards are available now and “will be available at least through Friday and maybe longer depending on logistics of getting them to him before or during the series.”

Game 1 of the World Series will be Tuesday in New York or Houston. The Nationals will play the Yankees or Astros. The Astros lead the American League Championship Series 2-1 with Game 4 on Friday night.

Eaton, who played three seasons for the Miami RedHawks, was inducted into the Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014. He’s the seventh person from Clark County to play for a team that reached the World Series, and he’ll be the sixth Clark County native and the first since Dustin Hermanson in 2005 to play in the World Series when he sees action next week.
