Few surprises on first Ohio State depth chart

Dwayne Haskins will back up J.T. Barrett

The Ohio State Buckeyes released their first depth chart of the 2017 season Monday, three days before the season opener against the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington on Thursday.

Here are the highlights:

• Redshirt freshman Dwayne Haskins is listed as the backup quarterback behind J.T. Barrett with Tate Martell listed as the third-string quarterback.

• Brandon Bowen won the starting job at right guard. Malcolm Pridgeon and Wyatt Davis are listed as the backups.

• Mike Weber or J.K. Dobbins will start at running back. DeMario McCall and Antonio Williams are listed as backups.

• Parris Campbell or K.J. Hill will start at hybrid back with C.J. Saunders backing them up.

• Wayne grad Robert Landers will backup Tracy Sprinkle at defensive tackle.

• Tyquan Lewis or Nick Bosa will start at one defensive end position, and Sam Hubbard or Jayln Holmes will start at the other.

• Hill, McCall and Campbell are all listed as starters at punt returner.
