Aaron Scott Jr. went to Ohio State’s first camp day of the summer and came home with something every attendee covets: A scholarship offer.

“If you know me, this is B1G!” the cornerback wrote on Twitter, using online shorthand for the Big Ten Conference. “I am extremely blessed to receive my 16th D1 offer from THE Ohio State University!”

A four-star prospect, Scott is the No. 7 prospect in Ohio for 2024 per 247Sports early rankings. He is No. 1 among area players, ahead of Trotwood-Madison quarterback Tim Carpenter, Fairfield quarterback Talon Fisher, Lakota West athlete Taebron Bennie-Powell and Northmont receiver Dalin Wilkins.

Scott told 247Sports the OSU offer is a blessing.

“I grew up watching O-State and my family loves their school,” he said. “They always talked about me being a Buckeye since I was younger.”

Scott had 20 tackles last season for the Wildcats during their run to the Division I state championship game, and he was a double-figure scorer for the basketball team.

The Ohio State offer comes after Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt and West Virginia offered in May.

The last football player from a Springfield high school to sign with Ohio State was Dee Miller, of South, in 1994.
